Our Story

Our Story

Final Touch Australia or FTA as we call it has seen a lot of change since it started in 2005. The most prevalent change being a shift from catering to a predominantly funeral home client base to expanding into the cemetery and crematoria sector.  Many people know us as a cremation urn supply company and while that is not wrong, many do not know where we started.

We are a family business and are so proud of what we have achieved for ourselves and the industry.

This is Our Story

Jennie, our co-founder, and Director worked for H Trevail and Son, as the Queensland sales representative for coffin hardware, ornaments, drapery, memorial books and sundry items from 1994-2005.  A role that she fell into when her children were young, and her sister handed over the ropes to her.

Jennie spent the next 11 years working with Queensland funeral directors, learning about the ever-changing landscape of the industry along the way.  Some of her first clients are still clients today, people that have watched both her family and business grow.

In 2005 when H Trevail and Son closed their doors, Jennie, along with her husband Lionel, purchased the moulds for the ornaments and coffin hardware to start Final Touch Australia.

Within the business’ first 24 months, FTA expanded to New South Wales, added a staff member and increased product lines to include more mortuary products (in particular Genelyn Embalming Fluids) in order to diversify the business. This was followed by expansion into other states of Australia as well as exporting to Papua Niugini and New Zealand.

In 2010 Jennie took what she describes as a nerve-racking leap into ordering a small supply of cremation urns from a supplier we still use today.  Since 2010 this aspect of our business has continued to grow with the addition of 10 more staff, increased warehouse space and a now 75-page Cremation Urn and Jewellery Catalogue that you know us by.

Thank you for supporting us, to work in an industry that we love.

We hope that our products encourage families to memorialise their loved ones and provide a valuable additional service to your business.
